Partners
The title "Partners" is used loosely here to include those organizations and agencies that are currently participating in formal, regional partnerships related to Wildland Fire and those who have roles and responsibilities linked to Wildland Fire. Because the Wildland Fire site was conceived as a clearinghouse for fire interests related to landscape conservation, we've included a broad list of Partners who either host web content that may be of interest to others and/or manage natural resources affected by wildfires or benefiting from fire management. Please contact us if you would like your organization/agency added to this list; and conversely, let us know if you wish to be removed from this list for any reason.
Alabama Cooperative Extension System
The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is the primary outreach and engagement organization for the land-grant mission of Alabama A&M University and Auburn University in cooperation with Tuskegee University.

The America's Longleaf Restoration Initiative (ALRI) is a collaborative effort of multiple public and private sector partners that actively supports range-wide efforts to restore and conserve longleaf pine ecosystems.
American Forest Resource Council
AFRC is a regional trade association whose purpose is to advocate for sustained yield timber harvests on public timberlands throughout the West to enhance forest health and resistance to fire, insects, and disease. We do this by promoting active management to attain productive public forests, protect adjoining private forests, and assure community stability. We work to improve federal and state laws, regulations, policies and decisions regarding access to and management of public forest lands and protection of all forest lands.
Appalachian Headwaters
Appalachian Headwaters, a nonprofit organization, is a leader in environmental education and reforestation of mined land in central Appalachia.
Appalachian Stewardship Foundation
Our vision is for environmental values to lead our energy future – clean streams, clear skies and a stable climate, with the least amount of energy necessary to provide the goods and services we need. ASF seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to protect freshwater streams and tributaries against the effects of pollution from energy development and use.
Archbold Biological Station
A biological station is a scientific resource for field study of the natural environment. The Archbold Biological Station, lying within the headwaters of the Everglades in south central Florida, is one of the most renowned in the world.
Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management
The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management provides resources for the prevention and suppression of wildland fire on State Trust Land and private property located outside incorporated communities. The agency provides services for fire prevention, urban and community forestry, forest stewardship, forest health, utilization and marketing, and has a wide variety of grants available.
Arkansas River Watershed Collaborative
The Arkansas River Watershed Collaborative (ARWC) grew out of the process of wildfire and its effects on water and communities. As fires in the Arkansas River Basin and across the state were becoming more intense and frequent, the need for organized community and agency partnerships to address impacts and preserve the health of our watersheds became clear and urgent.

The Association for Fire Ecology is an organization of professionals dedicated to improving the knowledge and use of fire in land management through science and education.

The DWR Mission: To sustainably manage the water resources of California, in cooperation with other agencies, to benefit the state’s people and protect, restore, and enhance the natural and human environments.
California State University Agricultural Research Institute
The Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) exemplifies the mission of the California State University system by working for California and its citizens through partnerships across the agricultural industry and beyond. Through the colleges of agriculture on four CSU campuses and allied disciplines across the CSU, the ARI conducts applied research to ensure the sustainability of California agriculture.
CalRecycle Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF)
CalRecycle established the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Grant and Loan Programs to provide financial incentives for capital investments in infrastructure for aerobic composting, anaerobic digestion and recycling and manufacturing facilities that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) receives Cap-and-Trade auction proceeds appropriated by the Legislature and Governor for projects that support the goals of AB 32.
Coalition of Prescribed Fire Councils
The overarching goal of the Coalition is to create one voice to assist fire practitioners, policymakers, regulators, and citizens with issues surrounding prescribed fire use.
Consortium of Appalachian Fire Managers & Scientists
The Consortium of Appalachian Fire Managers & Scientists (CAFMS) is one of 15 knowledge exchange networks supported by the Joint Fire Science Program. Our goal is to promote communication among fire managers and scientists in the Appalachian Mountains region. CAFMS is largely successful because of a strong relationship between the U.S. Forest Service Southern Research Stations and The Nature Conservancy's Fire Learning Network.
Cowpasture River Preservation Association
The CRPA is a citizen-formed, volunteer organization and a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation. A dues-based organization, the CRPA is governed by a 13 member board of directors, elected by the membership. At present, our strategic objectives include educational and water quality monitoring programs, advocacy, fellowship and outreach.
Del Norte Fire Safe Council
The California Fire Safe Council (CFSC), a California non-profit corporation, was first formed as a project of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) in 1993.
